Firstly. Gillette is not the best a man can get....that’s a woman, or another man.
Secondly. Women shave with Gillette as well

Well some celebrities with big social media following have come out and said that they will stop buying. Piers even had a platform on national television to go against this this morning.

Notice in the advert that the men who are doing the pestering and man splaining to the women are white men and the knights in shining armour who come to their rescue are black men.

It has to be this way or the advert wouldn't get the go ahead if it was reversed.

What people are forgetting is that most household shopping is done by women, in this case buying for men.

So the advert is targeted at women. They will have market researched this through and through.

This is also the reason by the way why the TV channel ITV (funded by adverts) is all about soaps and reality shows in prime-time these days.

Also it has been proven that advertising works better on younger people - they are more likely to change their buying decision based on an advert. So they think the #metoo theme will work with them.
