I imagine the development cycle will be much shorter than RE2 remake anyway, as they'll just use the RE2 Remake variation of the RE engine for it with few (if any) changes. RE2 Remake has had a fairly lengthy development but a lot of that was because they were still developing the bare bones of the system, and it's clearly had some quite heavy modifications made between RE7 and this.

I personally just hope they do RE8 onwards with this variation and not the RE7 first person mode... wasn't really a fan at all . Resi just doesn't belong as a first person game.
