Also away from having two of the protagonists having an incestuous relationship with each other, the rushed nature of it is also dire imo, they meet up in episode 3 of season 7, yet they start having mad feelings for each other by episode 5 of season 7 which no matter how the show tries to brush it up is dire writing imo. Tbf it's not my only issue with the later on seasons compared to earlier seasons, it's just it stands out a lot more than most of the other ropey elements in the later seasons (maybe with the exception of The Sparrow storyline) so it's why I mentioned it as one of the biggest problems with the programme for me personally.

Incest aside (lolz), the attempted murder of Bran was pretty much the worst thing Jaime has done thus far, and it wasn't a random act it was to try to cover up something (yes something... err... very dodgy) that would have destroyed him / his family / the royal line. The rest of what he's could all be considered simple wartime tactics, and his tactics are actually "cleaner" than a lot of others, including bonafide "good guys" like Daenerys and Tyrion. He's shown (again, incest aside!) personal morals many times right from the start. He respected Ned and was horrified when he was executed. He's tried to help various characters and Spoiler: In contrast; Spoiler: The list goes on of course. "Good" characters are few and far between in GoT. Jon Snow, Brienne, I suppose Sam (but he's pretty much just a Jon Snow sidekick). You have a few outright nasty ones like Joffrey and Ramsay Snow. Cersei is borderline nasty but the character's reasons are well developed. No one else on the "bad side" is really much worse than most of those on the "good side". But then, that's kind of the point. |
