All of which is shameful, but none of which makes it "just a scam".

There are hundreds of "will-writing" scams around; it doesn't mean that death isn't real.

Good for them for doing something, their strike isn't going to cost the government anything but it will create headlines and awareness for their cause especially in a time where you've got world leaders that are actively denying the facts surrounding climate change.
