54. Dance In The Dark // The Fame Monster (track 5) // 2009
This may be controversial (???) but as I said, I love every track from here on out. I can't deny I've never connected with DITD the same way other stans do, hence it being my second-lowest ranked TFM track. That's not to say it's not a dance anthem. The synths at the beginning are wig-snatching, the chorus is a belter. And some little spoken segments are iconic: "Silicone... saline... poison... inject me baby, I'm a free bitch" "Marilyn, Judy, Sylvia Tell 'em how you feel girls! Work your blond (Jean) Benet Ramsey We'll haunt like Liberace Find your freedom in the music Find your Jesus, find your Kubrick You will never fall apart Diana, you're still in our hearts Never let you fall apart Together we'll dance in the dark" It's a brilliantly creative track, and it's just a banger. I just think a number of other tracks on TFM shine a little brighter. Spoiler: |
