I don't think Natalie had any feelings for Johnny or even fancied him...she just went for someone who she thought would get her far and liked by the viewers.

It was more a case of Johnny latching on to whichever hot female rookie he thought would be a good partner for a future Exes season (see also: Nany, Angela, Morgan etc.)

He probably saw how well she did in the first challenge (finished 5th overall in the hill climb and 2nd female) and took advantage of that.
