Nobody said it justifies what she did.

It's just very telling that someone was so eager to point fingers at Abbott for breaking a law.... by breaking a law.

The irony.

You wouldn't care if any randomer was having a quiet drink on a train, you wouldn't get morally outraged over it. People are just clutching their pearls in faux outrage because of who it is, not because the act is actually offensive in any way.

Utter pettiness.

I bought an M&S mojito the following day not because I want to suck up with Hackney Abbott or Corbyn - in fact I very much dislike them both, and I'd never vote Labour in its current state. However, I'm sick of the media covering small fry stories like this and acting like its groundbreaking news when they stay silent on much much larger issues, or give it little airtime. This for me was more of an act of disobedience (not that it really would've gone noticed) to these tabloid newspapers which seem to have nothing better to do with their days.

it would be ironic if Abbot single handed turned round M&S's fortunes

yes how dare people be annoyed that a senior politician is caught breaking the law by drinking on a train in a city that is in the grip of a drugs and alcohol fuelled crime wave

and not just any politician, a nasty hypocritical one with a track record of saying one thing and doing another

You bought an M&S mojito as an act of disobedience? That showed 'em, eh?

Frankly I have only seen this story on TiBB, I don't read the tabloids. Maybe that's the answer?

Just so you know, Dezzy... I have you on ignore. Because that's possible now. So I don't have to read any more posts from you about other people's moral and/or faux outrage... because you know, you're the only one I ever see these traits emanate from. Anyhoo.... goodbye.

Are you as morally outraged by the publication of a photo which is also illegal?

By all means, run away from the argument that you know you can't win.

BUT Abbott didn't break that particular rule so you aren't interested.
