Again, Shaft is a black character in a blaxspoitation film series. Being portrayed by a black man is integral to his character. James Bond's race, nationality or even hair colour has never been integral to his character. He was originally english until Fleming retconned him to being scottish which allowed the character be open to re-interpretation.

You can't compare the two characters unless you ignore a whole bunch of **** to force the comparison to work. As long as James Bond is male and British, the rest is up for interpretation.

Dezzy has pretty much answered but to add, these worlds are not real. The creators are not going for maximum reality in these adventures so I have no problems with either character being any race.

There was a big fuss over John Boyega playing a black Stormtrooper and over Gwendolyn Chrtistie playing a female Stormtrooper in the recent Star Wars series but the films went thru and the fans got over it.
