People should quite rightly expect companies that provide services to maintain their privacy, and it is the fault of the company, not the person.
We all have information that is on line that we expect to be kept private, because we signed up to terms that assured us they would be. If a company breaks those terms, they should be held responsible, not the person whose details were stolen

I think it's virtually impossible for any company to
guarantee your privacy and security. I don't do any Internet banking, despite the pressure my bank puts on me to do so, because I've heard so many horror stories. It's unfortunate, but everyone must take responsibility for their own security and not just rely on the fact that we've been
told our stuff is secure.
