I think the only answer to climate change is new technology.

The population is only going to increase, and as poorer countries become more developed they output more CO2.

People in the richer countries don't want to hurt their economies or radically alter their way of life, and we don't want to put a halt to human progress.

New technology that reduces carbon emissions, and adapting to change is the only realistic path to take, in my opinion.

I agree with that, but when the Oil companies control the dialogue (by paying for politicians), then it's nigh on impossible.

The technology wouldn't be available, affordable or desirable where its needed - in the emerging industrial economies with rocketing populations. It's a sticking plaster on your skinned elbow when you have two broken legs.

True.
We have to reconcile ourselves to some warming.
Population is set to reach 11 billion and stabilize and drop very slowly

New technologies are key. On the plus side, if invested and supported they could lead to economic boom I'm told.

In the meantime we must do what we can to shore up coastlines, introduce more sustainable agriculture, plant trees and rewild some land, ban single use plastic, maybe use non recyclable waste to build artificial islands if technology allows
And more.

Yes everyone needs Free Solar panels fitted
plugged into a New home and the National Grid.

China has Massive Zones of nothing but solar,
under one was a pig farm.
But Of Course China also now has Massive Coal Burners
that cancel all that good massive solar future
