Why would she need to have one? She's a kid trying to help raise awareness, she's not in the middle of an election campaign.

We already know that half of the country see's any kind of plan as completely unnecessary. If only we held our own politicians to the same scrutiny as this 16yr old, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in.

Nobody's holding her personally to account, everybody knows she's just a puppet and others are pulling her strings. But at the moment, she's been pushed out front and centre and all we have to go on with this is that a girl is upset that people aren't doing enough for something she believes in.

The environment belongs to all of us and we all have a stake in it. It's not really about her, she's just become a focal point that (mainly dudes) can ridicule because she cares about something and doesn't have all the answers. Like every single one of us here is an expert on everything.

Couldn't she write a book instead of taking up all our news time?

Do you honestly believe that humans who have been on this planet for, what? A few thousand years? can some how save the Planet (which as been here for billions of years) from itself?

Don't worry, the planet will see us humans off before we ever save it from itself.

I think modern humans have been on the planet for around 100,000-250,000 years, although maybe the bible was right and we've only been here a few thousand.

Whatever it is, it comes nowhere close to billions.

What has this planet had to endure in all that time? All sorts. Floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, volcano's, magnetic storms, bombardment by commits and asteroids. And us humans think we're gonna destroy it with a plastic bottle or a straw.

That's why it is important to know what the plan is to stop warming - not just her's but the environmental movement's - so that we don't make things worse.

Do you know how we make things worse? Carry on doing what we're doing. I don't want to speak out of turn, but i'm guessing none of us on the forum work in climate science, green tech/renewables. I agree we need a plan, but I think it's unfair to expect normal folks to have the answers. Obviously fossil fuels is a killer, and probably the most difficult thing to address as the oil companies have so much power.

I read something a few weeks back that said these companies were aware of the damage they were doing to the climate/environment back in the 70's but swept it under the carpet.
