We saw Gemini Man in the cinema recently because it was the only thing on at the time. It was okay, I liked Mary Elizabeth Winstead in it. Will Smith in his roles were underwhelming and I thought the cgi was mostly crap.

At a stretch it's a 6/10
Watchable but wasn't worth paying for.

Did you watch the Director's Cut? There are some quite subtle changes in the additional runtime that make the whole film come together MUCH better than the theatrical cut, which was full of really weird scene transitions. It makes the entire film flow better and much more watchable. I'm gutted that we never got a Zack Snyder cut of Justice League because I can pretty much guarantee I'd have enjoyed it much more than the version that was released.

In short; he's God, she's Gaia ("mother earth"), it's a metaphor for the story of creation, sacrifice and original sin. The house filling with people for the "party" is the world filling up with humans, the baby is Jesus, etc etc.

I enjoyed it but I found some of the metaphor a bit on-the-nose.

It's possible - it was a DVD my friend put on, so I didn't really notice which version.
Maybe I've just mellowed a bit because I gave Titans another chance and liked it this time around! After the first few eps of S1 anyway, I still didn't much like the opening.
Batman's great, I still think Ben Affleck is too obviously working class somehow to play millionaire Bruce Wayne, but his bits were still ny favourites.

Indeed, he doesn't look like "old money". Though neither do most of the Hollywood Batmen... Christian Bale even moreso than Affleck tbh.

He can have a bit of a "Frontier Governor" look about him with a beard I think, to be fair I don't know where the Wayne money is supposed to have come from. Maybe they were self-made off the boat! Gold rush nouveau riche.

The comparison my friend gave was "can you imagine them working in a shop?" I can picture Ben Affleck saying "yes sir, we do have those shoes in your size, I'll be right back!" but not the others but that didn't affect my enjoyment tbh

I think I was a stick in the mud about the DC adaptions because I like the comics so much, and want them to be the same. But I decided to pull the stick out a bit and just enjoy them for what they are, and it's much better! Though I do prefer what I've seen of the Arrowverse and Titans so far.

ANYWAY I watched Terminator 2 last night, loved it as always. I wonder if Arnie being the good guy was meant to be a surprise, as the movie didn't make it clear which Terminator was which until the shootout, and he was the baddie in the previous one.

I think the audience was probably meant to assume that Arnie was bad again right up until he grabbed John and shielded him from the gunfire. However, I imagine it may have been spoilered on release by trailers / promotional material.

Love Terminator 2. The latest movie has a similar feel. A lot of fun!

I’m watching Ed Wood in a bit, “Halloween-but-not” - Tim Burton’s best movie confirmed!

Aquaman - 6/10 - I was expecting this film to be good but it was actually mediocre tbh. i found most of it pretty boring even the fighting scenes which could have been a lot better. Nicole Kidman looks great for her age though.

Jigsaw - It kind of brought me back to the first Saw Movie a little bit (not quite as good) but it was nice to see the effort was there, the Film was fun, and I liked the twist.

Spectral - The Film has an interesting plot, and overall the Film is watchable, but for me the characters were underdeveloped which impacted the story for me.

Overall - 7/10 for the interesting plot and a shocking death in the Movie.

Hush - Give it a few minutes to warm up and you'll be away with a very good psychological Horror/Thriller type of experience. There's only one thing I'd have fixed about the killer in the Film, other than that I'd say that he was highly entertaining to watch.

8.5/10

War Of The Worlds (2005) - Again give it a few minutes to warm up and you're on your way with the Film then, it imo combines a lot of the best elements of The Last Of Us, Falling Skies, and TWD into one neat little package. I'd have fixed the ending up a little bit, and the son could be written to be quite annoying, but to me I just really enjoyed the Film so I can forgive the flaws.

9.5/10

Hush is a great film

War Of The Worlds, I really enjoyed the first half... it's a brilliant set-up... but then it just goes nowhere . Builds up and then fizzles out, no real payoff, like a bad handjob at a Uni halloween party.

I agree with you on Hush.

I get where you're coming from with War Of The Worlds, I think that the biggest strength for that Film for me was the survivalist elements that sadly can get overlooked in some Post-Apocalyptic/Dystopian stories and it was nice to see that this story didn't forget about the cornerstone of the genre imo. I think the Tripods could've maybe done with more development in terms of personality, but I do respect what the Film went for.

Lol at the handjob comment.
