He was being physically held only indirectly because he was eating a sandwich. The real reason he was being physically held is that when he was approached, he was told he wasn't allowed to eat or drink on the platform. But he continued, and the officer issued a citation. When this happened he cursed, refused to show ID and made a homophobic comment to the officer. According to the article I've read. Only then does the video start. I didn't hear anyone mention his race on the video except he himself. I just think the whole thing was handled badly by both parties and a huge fuss ensued. That is what I am saying.
