It's not a common thing to happen, and if it does there's normally a sensitive subject that's been joked about that's been made by the Comedian.
And imo the only people that would get so offended at anti-Brexit jokes to the point of throwing something at the Comedian are Brexiters, that's not saying that all Brexiters are like that, but to me the OTT reaction from the crowd would be because they're in favour of Brexit and they didn't like feeling like they were being talked down to by the Comedian, hence the reaction.
Again I could be wrong and you could be right, but it's mighty convenient that the Bread Roll incident happened when it was to do with a touchy subject.
