Indeed.
Shouldn’t really be an option to stay on if guilty of impeachment.
In my opinion.

Not holding him accountable means you are giving him free license to flout any and all laws.

What a strange grasp of morality you seem to have. When the impeachment leads nowhere, it won't be a declaration of innocence for Trump but a look at how corrupt the republicans truly are.

It's an open and shut case, given the wealth of evidence so if a removal from office doesn't occur, it shows how truly inept and corrupt the republican led senate is.

He doesn't need to be removed for it to have an effect.

The world is corrupt, what it shows is he is guilty but is getting away with it.

Morals are worth nothing in politics or anything else, history has proved that.

You just said it exposes him as guilty. A stain on his presidency, which will damage him going into the next election cycle.

So, you complain about the state of the world, yet you believe people shouldn't be held accountable for making it worse.

Okay.

Okay.
Oh yes life is really going to change for trump.

Does morals come into it when a chemist will not give someone dying of a nut allergy a epi pen.

You think you have more morals than me, the truth is I don’t feel the need to prove to the world who I am.

History proves the opposite, it is house that brings the call that end up being damaged

Trump moved up 6 points in popularity i think they said on BBC Radio 2 today (their analyst played the whole thing down as a futile stunt that will lead to no where)

It's about making a stand, even if corruption allows him to escape punishment for his crimes until he's out of office, it's about showing that he can't do as he pleases.

Your whole attitude is just acceptance masked as apathy. You pretend not to care when you are actually defending Trump and his actions by basically making out that the process shouldn't happen.

Can you expand on the bit in bold please? I don't get either the connection or have any idea why chemists need to hand out epipens over medical professionals. Cheers.

"You said it was about this terrible Russia collusion. When that fell through, it
was about emoluments, it’s about bribery, it’s about extortion. It’s changed, but
one thing hasn’t changed and that’s the intent to impeach this president. It’s
always been there.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said, “Democrats have been triggered into impeaching
the President – because they don’t like him, and they don’t like us.”

He didn't go up.

What happened was people who already supported him either a) stuck their finger in their ears and pretended it wasn't happening. A massive portion of his supporters get by on pretending. or b) they will stick by him because it's Trump and they support him and they don't really care. Even though they'll scream until their blue in the face about holding other presidential candidates to the letter of the law.

But he already has been. The impeachment in itself is a blow against Trump and a permament stain on his and his family's legacy. He won't be known as the billionaire businessman that oozed success, he'll be known as an impeached president that was a joke to everyone but his ardent followers. For a narcissist such as him, that's a deep cut.

The fact that this process is showing himself up to be even more deranged than usual is a benefit too.

This whole process has hurt Trump in a way nothing else has these past few years.

People with actual moral fibre dislike criminals, what a shocker.

People with flawed character and morals will continue to support a known criminal who has consistently flouted the laws he should be upholding.

Through corruption, division and tax breaks to the rich with none for those who need it? He hasn't done anything meaningful that wasn't for the benefit of himself or his billionaire buddies. Anything he claims to have done tends to crumble when you look at it in depth.

The only way anyone can pretend to make out that he's tried to make the world better is by disregarding the facts, evidence to the contrary and common sense.
