Given the overwhelming success, they probably will move forward with or without Lindelof IMO. But, it's not booked.

If the network agrees, then expect to watch Watchmen season two in late 2020
at the very earliest, although it seems likely that the wait will be
far longer given the show's creative and budgetary requirements. ]

Obviously if he and his writers can create one as brilliant as the first, sure]
