We can't stay on lockdown for a year, the global economy will collapse and you'll starve to death long before a vaccine is developed. I'm sorry if that's blunt but people do need to understand the real situation.

As soon as possible I hope. I've never been this purposeless and miserable in so long, and the fact it's threatening the summer after that horrid cold winter is even more saddening.

I'll be very surprised if we're "back to normal" anytime before September, honestly.

This

Even after restrictions are lifted I think it’ll take a while for things to get back to “normal”

Ive been saying June along, but some folk think it be over with in the 3 weeks. Some folk are flouting the rules. Will we ever want to shake anyones hand again? I don't think I will.

The problem is, a lot of those who believe that three weeks of lockdown will knock it on the head are going to rebel when it's announced to be much longer. More and more people will start quietly "cheating" the longer it goes on.

This is true, I think its a mistake to say it will last six months ...they should extend it in two weekly hits, as it might make it more palatable

yep, it should be extended in manageable chunks, it's basic psychology, amazing that a medical officer doesn't understand that

Once they start masses of antibodies tests they can get more people out working.

We should ask to the manager of Coronavirus tbh

On a more serious note, it will become as seasonal as the flu through time. It's the outbreak and scientists knowing nothing about it that makes it very dangerous. And until a lot of people have been infected to become immune (excluding maybe the possibility of catching it twice?) and scientists delivering proper medication and testing, then it won't stop anytime soon.

Start of the 3rd week of quarantine today over here in France. I didn't think I would ever say this in my life but thank God I'm working (from home during this time) because at least I can focus on something else. I feel for the people unemployed due to it, must be tough.
