The daily exercise is meant to be alone or only with household members, letting your kids out to play football with the other local kids is completely irresponsible and for once, I agree with Adam on something like this, parents found to be allowing their children to do so, should be fined

They can go out with a sibling or parent and exercise, ride a bike....jog, there are families with kids in our street they go out every day together and ride their bikes up and down, but they are not joining in with others kids on the street as they and their parents are obviously aware of what is acceptable, the kids come out at different times to other families

Unfortunately, I would love to let my son out to play football in the street but there is no way a child of his age would remember to stay 6ft away from the others. He has been playing football since he was 3, training twice a week on drills,spacing etc but get them in a game and its still swarm ball. Its tough but he just has toto play in the back garden for now. Luckily, we have a decent sizes back garden. I feel for kids (and their parents) who live in flats etc where getting fresh air is just not that easy.

It's a bit early to be slamming the breaks yet. They will need to do some serious re-evaluation if we're still in lockdown by the end of May, though.

Kids aren't going to remember or bother to stick to a safe distance.

The rules are clear and stretching them little by little to suit is just going to cause these lockdowns to drag on for longer.
