Training Day - 10/10

Holy ****! I was hooked from the moment they met each other in that diner. I know it comes as no surprise since he won an Oscar for it, but Denzel Washington's portrayal of Alonzo is terrifyingly good. Just truly amazing.

That's not to say Ethan Hawke didn't deserve his Oscar nod too, as he was so convincing in his role as well.

Really enjoyed watching this.

This is the story of the David Irvine Libel Trial where a renown anti-Semite and Holocaust denier sued Professor Deborah Lipstadt and Penguin Books for libel, and

The bit at the end where people were hugging each other made me cry over what we have lost with this social distancing edict due to Covig-19

Also the accounts of the suffering of the Jews during the Holocaust and how the Nazi's murdered them also makes one shed a tear. To think that someone tried to use UK Libel laws to effectively say that never happened is appalling

Really good thought provoking film about capitalism, the structure of society, human nature

the clip has subtitles but the film is dubbed. Its quite a watch.

Vivarium- what a crap film. Worst thing I've watched in ages, it wasn't scary or tense, it didn't explain anything, it was just boring and pointless 1/10

Ew don't watch it dubbed like a heathen, the acting is excellent and you'll miss out if you don't watch it in the original Spanish (in my opinion). I am against dubbed versions of films in general though. Apparently some people watched the Netflix series "Dark" dubbed into English?? awful.


Also we did eat some lovely snacks whilst watching The Platform. 4D cinema experience

Inside Out - I was hoping to like this considering all of the positive reactions from a lot of people about the Film and it's mature content.

For me personally it just came across like a more stiff version of Up (which is a great Film imo) and Joy and Sadness came across as really unlikable to me personally, and the kid in the Film gets written very mechanically in my view, how can I feel sorry for a character that's only feeling her emotions based on what Joy, Sadness or any of the others want her to feel in that moment? I know that it's the concept of the Film (or a large component at least) but I just couldn't take to that element of Inside Out in execution.

Where as with Films like Up, or A Silent Voice (I know that it's not a kids Movie) but they're both like Inside Out where they want you to really invest in the characters and have sad moments in their Films, and imo they did a much better job of it than Inside Out did because I actually liked most of the characters in those Films and they also could be humorous, especially Up.

Also that's Inside Out and Toy Story 4 now that didn't have any real villains in their Films, when will Pixar actually realise that having a villain is nearly as important to Fiction as having heroes?

Overall 1.5/10 - I can count on my one hand how many things that I liked about Inside Out. I'll give The Incredibles 2 a shot from Pixar next, if that is as flat as either Toy Story 4 or Inside Out then Pixar just isn't for me anymore which I suppose was always gonna happen eventually with me not being in their target demographic anymore.

it's a metaphor and actually very well done from a psychology standpoint. Also... Joy and Sadness are not supposed to be likable characters, that's really the whole point, NONE of the individual "emotion characters" are supposed to be likable or relatable... because the whole message of the film is to point out that it takes all of these things working together to make a "whole person".

In terms of story concept, the writing Inside Out is easily the best Pixar has
