Chris Tarrant himself on GMB said the whole prosecution sum up was left out and that was very important ~ lets not forget he was done for insurance fraud 6mths before ~ he should never have got on the show ~ they took someone elses money away when they found out he had a record.

Also, is that true about someone killing their dog? Even if they are guilty why take it out on the dog ffs. And why would people be that mad anyway, it's funny more than anything

From day 1 they seemed guilty and i still think that , the evidence is deafening .
The Quiz dramatisation was entertaining yet interesting to see it from the other side , and the barrister defending them was almost convincing and clever. But both the Ingram's behaviour was weird and obsessive . I remember watching this documentary when it aired years ago , I'm NOT a Bashire fan , i'm interested in the testimonials of the witnesses who were actually there who suspected something was going on. |

Presumably, the case for the prosecution that we weren’t shown was the case that we’ve all built up in our minds against them ever since this first happened and haven’t received anything to challenge it in 19 years.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and there were some interesting points raised, the comparison to Judith Keppel for example and the coughs in her show, but honestly watch the Major Fraud documentary - there are points raised in that that Quiz didn’t even address. It was a fascinating drama that did its bit to show the Ingram’s side of the story, which they’re fully entitled to, but no. It hasn’t changed my view that they’re guilty whatsoever. It does seem to have altered plenty of people’s views though and I’m slightly bewildered that ITV showed a drama that doesn’t show them in the best of lights. Quite gutsy of them really.

Seems to me that even if they were guilty its pretty questionable for the police to only use evidence that had been provided by the shows producers which had been edited to make the cheating look more blatant
Also I started out thinking it was farfetched for the coughing to be coincidental, well now I think its quite farfetched that this plan could have come together like that from one very brief phone call with a man they'd never met and who's coughing problem could have confused things numerous times. I also thought his explanation for why he changed answers to Craig David - the audiences gasp - made a lot of sense |

I believe their appealing it with a big human rights lawyer where apparently under new technology they can supposedly prove that some or most of these coughs didn't actually come from Whittock.
I think its unlikely anything will come from it but imagine the irony if they did because of a drama itv put out would itv owe them Ł1million? |

My biggest ciriticism of the show was that it was far too romantic in terms of how the Ingrams were portrayed. The acting was top notch but right from the first show I had no interest in the fact they had debts and that Dianas hapless brother was a bit of a screw up. They spent so much time on what I thoguht were irrelevancies and then spent about 5 minutes on the episode itself. Anyone who watches the episode in its entirety with the coughs turned up cannot beleives Ingrams story. I've said it a few times, up until the Ł125,000 there has only been about 5 coughs, all quite spaced out and I'm certain if they'd tapped out at that stage they'd have got away with it. As the technician nicely puts it in the Bashir docuemnetary - when you have in excess of 15 coughs at specific points that appear to be leading somebody - add that to the bizarre way he played every question, Ingrams story is not beleivable. Quiz was a romantic portrayal of the Charles and Diana INgram Millionaire story, top notch acting but it glossed over, for me, the most important part, that there is a mass of evidence in the episode itself that supports Ingrams cheated.

I caught up on this drama the other day.
They did seem to be implying they might be innocent, but when you watch the actual show back it is bizarre how he changes his answers, and doesn't give any logic for it. |

I don't see the need for a second series tbh, the writer is brilliant however, I think he should make a sequel in the form of other TV scandals, I reckon a TV drama based on Nasty Nick would go down a storm

Good vid.
Agree with Moyles at about 1.50. The Ingrams didnt come across as particularly likeable during the whole episode and one weakness of the series was the acting was so good the ingrams came acorss as much nicer than they actally were.

Is there enough behind the scenes going on for that to make a film/drama though? Everything there was to do with it played out onscreen.

It was obvious he was playing the game too hard back in 2000 . He did some silly things and said some daft things, but it was clearly part of his "plan" which failed anyway . |
