The top government aide, who lets face it, essentially runs the country, breaking his own lockdown rules so flagrantly, is a massive slap in the face to all the people who’ve stuck by them for months, even the ones who’ve had the virus as well, this is the problem with these people, they expect us to all play our parts but they so obviously think they’re above the rules themselves, he won’t resign because he’s an arrogant pig, but I don’t think he’ll be fired either, they’ll bend as many rules as possible to back their own, one rule for us, one rule for them, disgrace

How bloody stupid can someone get? I wouldn't go anywhere near even my healthy relatives if I had symptoms. How is that clown in a palatable position to be even near government?

+1

absolutely, top adviser to your PM has huge responsibilities, him breaking these rules, well this could make average british public thinking like ''if he doesn't obey the rules, why should i'' that last bit is more hypothetically speaking what could occur if someone in high position in government breaks corona rules

he never should've visited his elderly parents when he had symptoms, should've more used facetime or skype to contact them

Unfortunately, he’s good at his job, he gets the ‘right’ messages across to the ‘right’ people, he’s just an unimaginable twat that really has a massive contempt for the people of this country.

Funny really, he’s the ultimate unelected bureaucrat these days, when he was one of the main people delivering Brexit to get us away from all of those evil unelected bureaucrats in Brussels, it’s almost like they don’t really care if citizens are being ruled by people who didn’t earn their positions or not

He had symptoms therefore the child could have been asymptomatic plus as Cherie said.....did they not need food, fuel or rest breaks on the way. Its irresponsible and selfish....you can spin it however you want Arista but you are wrong on this. The safest thing would have been to stay put as everyone else in the country was told too.

I'm sure the grand parents will have agreed to this before he came, I very much doubt he just turned up.

Which imo, this should be a yard stick for all families to follow.

It doesn’t matter if they agreed? It’s the rules this government set up and he’s not abiding to them.

One rule for us, another for them.

I haven’t been round to my dads house and he’s 5 minutes down the road.

“Could have” / “maybe”

All irrelevant.

How done exactly the opposite of what the government laid out for us to do.

I'm not disputing that, I just don't think what he did is that wrong.

it's Boris I feel sorry for; he's doing his best to hide away until the whole thing blows over and now he might actually have to appear in public and answer some questions.

Hopefully he''ll be able to ignore it and stay in the fridge, the brave little soldier.

Yes, I have. I haven't seen my parents for more then ten weeks, haven't been home since January. Nor have I interacted with anyone other than the people who I live with in my household.

Even if I didn't. I'm not a part of the government where any breakage of the rules should result in some sort of discipline to their position.

What an idiot.
He needs to go.
If they were fit enough to drive then they were fit enough to look after their child.
Silly to put his parents at risk like that.

From the gov.uk website

Stay alert

We can all help control the virus if we all stay alert. This means you must:

stay at home as much as possible
work from home if you can
limit contact with other people
keep your distance if you go out (2 metres apart where possible)
wash your hands regularly
Do not leave home if you or anyone in your household has symptoms.

Don’t see how anyone can defend this, maybe he got confused like half the population seem to be by simple messages

They just feel like they’re above everyone else so they don’t need to follow their own rules, they were never going to get rid of him, unlike the science advisor they forced to resign after he broke the rules, the fish rots from the top and this government is rotten

Bull**** response from the government. We all knew if you had symptoms then you need to isolate at home. There have been whole families sick at home and doing just that. Can you imagine if a footballer had done this?

If he didn’t break the law, I wonder if all those people that were fined for doing similar things are going to get their money back?
