The tension has always been there it's just always swept under the rug. People don't wanna talk about race because it makes them uncomfortable, they don't want to accept that racism still exists in this day and age and would rather just gaslight minorities. Black people feel like they're screaming at a brick wall when it comes to these issues because no matter how many times they talk about it it doesn't seem like anything changes.
