I'd go with a mix of both. I think people genuinely are confused about what looting has to do with justice and are hyper-focussed on the specifics of the things people are doing, because they don't understand that these things (opportunistic looting, civil disobedience, disregard for the law) go hand-in-hand with societal breakdown - always have, in every example throughout history - and that societal breakdown is always... ALWAYS... the fault of those in authority. It literally cannot be anyone else's fault.

However that is compounded by confirmation bias and people simply not wanting to make the effort to understand it.

You can't blame people for being uneducated on things like history, sociology, social psychology, gang mentality et al... You absolutely can blame them for being willfully ignorant to suit their own bias and agenda.

Candace is just scum though she pretty much said George deserved to die and people shouldn't feel sorry for him and protest in his name
