No, completely wrong.

The good vets were there to look after the cenotaph as agreed with the met and mayor. .that's why they were allowed through the barriers keeping the drunken snarling mob at bay.

They stood there until 5pm, then left.


If they were drinking then they only had the cenotaph to piss on...and I doubt that would have happened.
