I'm sure your post above will give great comfort to those hundreds of thousands, grieving for lost loved ones unexpectedly. That's it's nothing to do with a mess of testing, nothing to do with a bad preparation of protection equipment. Plus the NHS was overwhelmed. Hence the instruction to get the elderly out of hospitals to free up beds. Not being tested for this virus. Then returning to care homes, infecting others and the care staff too. To say it's just nature catching up and so resulting in the loss of their loved ones. Really. Wow,tell that to my Mother, shattered at the loss of her Sister and the families of all lost loved ones. Like my Mother, myself,my cousins. You'll get a different response to yours of nature catching up. That I know for a fact. No doubt though, you'll get applauded for your stance. it is still very risky though, and shops can be very crowded, so you should at all times give the advice to wear face masks there too

[Coronavirus: 72 contract COVID-19
after outbreak on Herefordshire farm Dozens of key workers picking and packing vegetables at a farm in Herefordshire have tested positive for coronavirus. The council says 220 people at AS Green & Co, based in Mathon near Malvern, have been tested for Covid-19 and 72 came back positive following an outbreak there. Workers are being asked to isolate on the farm and stay within household groups to reduce the risk of spreading the virus within the workforce, and are being treated as "one extended bubble".] https://news.sky.com/story/coronavir...-farm-12026954 |

Why on earth does he just keep procrastinating. He indicated last week, masks or facecoverings that the science had moved on it. It's took a while. Most other Countries have had them for a fair while now. However, then we get Gove saying they won't be mandatory in shops and stores. So what is he going to announce.. They have to be worn on public transport. So all he could be announcing was they were going to be in other indoor and enclosed areas. However Gove has said this is not the case. So instead of more days of muddle and mixed messaging. Just get said what he intends to. He'd saying again today, it's important to wear facecoverings in enclosed places. Gove indicated no change to the rulings on it though. It's pathetic, totally. As for this from Wales today too. What on earth are people with breathing difficulties doing outside, getting on public transport where someone could have it. Then not to wear a facecovering. They shouldn't be using any transport at present, unless their own or in a car maybe with someone they know. We're being led by people, of ALL parties who are acting like they haven't a clue. Either we should be wearing facecovering in shops and stores or not. There's no in-between on this one in my view. So for goodness sake as Prime Minister make the decision and reveal it. Not drag it out like an act in a stage play. Looking at the guidance. Good grief, one would think he'd know it by heart by now. |

Not drag it out like an act in a stage play." Yes why not say face masks in all stores must be worn in England. All shops sell them , now Last edited by arista; 13-07-2020 at 12:10 PM. |

Just chatting to my boss, she lives in East London and says no one wears a mask on the tube until you get into Zone 1 then people get on wearing masks...so much for mandating..

Because people will still not wear them , and the onus will be on shop staff to enforce it and similarly to only one person going shopping, people will kick up a fuss and abuse the staff

and who is going to enforce it in the shops, people will tell the staff they will spit at them, that is what happened when they tried to enforce couples not shopping together.

I totally agree. It's ridiculous. Stores wil in usual times, limit the number of school students going in and watch them like hawks. They can't go in, in normal times with a hoodie on whatever. Yet it would be hard to say you must have a mask on. What utter nonsense. Simply don't let anyone in, if they can't or won't wear one. It's bonkers. wearing a mask in a pub is totally impractical, and i would say pubs are the most likely indoor areas for mass spreading if it were present. Much more likely than big supermarkets. Small shops and public transport seem like the right places for masks to me

True, shop staff have received abuse over trivial things like not accepting cash so there will be a lot of people who really won't respond well to being told not to enter without a mask. I would guess only about half of people would comply

If more effort was put in working out how it could be enforced, rather than making excuses for it not to be.
We might get somewhere. Those shielding are going to be told to no longer in around 2 weeks time. They were the people in greatest need, it was decreed of needing protecting. For them to now go off into shops and stores, still the ones having the age and vulnerable health conditions as before. Mixing with more and more people. Then the facecoverings could be extremely vital. Joke about it and dismiss it all you like. For me however, I consider it vital to wear a facecovering in public, never mind in stores and shops. I don't want to think of more put at risk for needing to do such a small thing. Which it actually is in fact. Last edited by joeysteele; 13-07-2020 at 12:31 PM. |
