In terms of the tech, there's no way for it to tell the difference... it doesn't operate optically so it doesn't "know" if there's a solid object between app-users or not . That is a very good point.

I believe you have to be in proximity to them for something like 10 or 15 minutes so that's unlikely unless you've got a particularly large load of shopping. Likewise, it won't happen if you were to drive past someone in the street (lol).

However as an example, I live in a semi-detached house and it could in theory activate because of proximity to our neighbours through the wall - despite the fact that I can't ****ing stand them and haven't been within 10+ metres of them for over 5 years, other than with a wall between us .
