22nd amendment limits presidents to two terms, it could technically be removed at any time allowing a president to run for a third term, which Trump could technically try to do during this term. However removing the term limit would mean that Obama COULD then run against him, and I think Obama would almost certainly win if he ran. Trump vs Obama 2024 anyone?

Wisconsin is on a knife edge with Biden leading by 9000 votes, if he wins and other similar states fall the same way, Biden is going to win

The NYTimes still has Georgia tilting Biden (and it's not outdated, it's a "needle" that updates constantly) but I have no idea how or why. I can't see it. If Georgia goes Trump does that mean I know more about US politics than the New York Times?

its all about paths available to victory i think. Biden still has many, trump doesnt. So it kind of favours Biden, but doesn't mean Trump can't win

The bookmakers now have it as 50-50 with Biden slight favourite.

About an hour ago Trump was 1/3 favourite.

Its so close. This could literally go easily either way.
There's no clear cut winner.

If Wisconsin goes to Trump I think it’s pretty much over isn’t it? Biden will have such a slim chance to get Pennsylvania or Michigan after that

If Biden does end up winning his aim of uniting the american people has no chance of success

America has been fundamentally divided since its birth as a nation, there is no viable aim of a united America. I think if you fast forward enough (not within our lifetimes, but eventually) it'll straight up split. States like New York and California are inherently incompatible with the central red states. It's that simple.

Have you been to many parts of the States? the difference between certain states is ridiculous, it's not even like it's the same country, we spent a couple of weeks in some of the Southern states and then flew in to San Francisco (actually it was just days before the election in 2016) and it was like a culture shock. You go from massive everything in Texas etc where we were saying imagine trying to get these guys to think about the environment to San Francisco with it's hatch backs and hybrids and joggers

There's a big cultural divide in America. It's not really one country. I think the big difference with European countries is more people in America take religion seriously.

There's the 3 Fs that mean a lot to many Americans: Faith, Flag and Family. I'm not sure Liberal America has come to terms with that.

It was divided along exactly the same lines during its own fight for independence, the Civil War, and the Civil Rights movement etc. as it is today. There is no uniting it. We think there are large political differences in the UK but in reality there aren't; the vast majority of people lean slightly right/left of centre as do both English parties to varying degrees, as well as the SNP up here. We are culturally a relatively homogenous place and always have been, the US just isn't the same thing.

You do see that a lot I think. Very friendly, open people... with utterly bat**** crazy ideas. Louis Theroux US-based documentaries illustrate this quite well I think. They're so welcoming of him and he often ends up begrudgingly liking them as characters - while they come out with stuff that makes the mind absolutely boggle.

Yeah they are very religious in certain states, I remember going to Alabama when I was 11, staying with family who migrated and on the Sunday the town shut down, it was very strange and it felt a little cult like thinking back.

As nice as people were aswell we were clearly outsiders.

Oh we've been having a Louis Theroux binge the last few weeks actually, he's brilliant but yes absolutely. I've probably already told this story on here but one example was when we were in a truck stop one time in Texas to get some food and we got chatting with this Trucker and we were talking about the election and he told us he and his wife had 100k rounds of ammunition stock piled in case Hilary won Real friendly guy though, it's a head **** there I swear

WHY has the betting flipped back to favouring Biden? It's driving me nuts because I can't figure it out. Wisconsin is right on the edge with literally a couple of thousand votes in it and if Trump snatches it's basically over. For them to favour Biden they have to think he's going to take either Georgia or Michigan and Trump leads both. Nevada is far from a guaranteed Biden win at this point also. But he's drifted to 6/4 vs Biden's 8/13?? Wut.

At this point I'm getting itchy fingers on placing a bet in all honesty. I just cannot see anything but a Trump win. It feels like the safest 6/4 I've ever seen.
