What's everyone's thoughts on this.
Wouldn't that work better? Vaccinate the workers so they cant catch covid then they could go visit parents again before they are vaccinated |

It makes sense to do the most at risk and caregivers first imo

100 percent the caregivers, I'm with you on that.
But imagine vaccinating the families of those being cared for first, they could then freely visit covid free, whilst they wait for their turn. I reckon a lot of vulnerable people would prefer that. |

Even the best vaccines don't give protection from the day you receive it and this is no exception, you could have the potential to pass on the virus for weeks after...You might be fine but there is still the risk of infecting others.

The workforce is much larger than the population of vulnerable people, it makes sense to do the smaller group - and the group that is taking hospital space/ICU capacity - first and foremost.
In theory, if the vaccine is effective, you can eliminate the bulk of the problem of Covid by JUST vaccinating the elderly and vulnerable, similar to the annual flu vaccination. |

Vaccinate the carers first by all means..but then vaccinate the most active so they can become safe from spreading it...get the country going again. |

The days off work by the unvaccinated would ruin the economy if we just vaccinated the elderly and vulnerable and their carers. You might forget to salt the tatties one night and think you've lost your sense of taste and all if a sudden you have to take 4 or 5 days off work because of some new regulation. I can only imagine the law suits if we are made to live with covid!! After all we've been through. Last edited by parmnion; 02-12-2020 at 09:39 PM. |

Adios

Any person with common sense would vaccinate the elderly and vulnerable first. You know...they’re vulnerable...

obviously vulnerable first. By targeting that community, you wipe out the risk of death almost immediately. By March, the death rate should be heading toward zero. Compare that to last March

Just listened to some families who have been able to visit their families in care homes brought tears to my eyes
