No it means that Republicans are more inclined to use TV as their primary news source (rather than news publications or online news sources). This is down to a combination of lower educations levels (more likely to watch or listen to news than read it) and Republicans having a generally older voter base (more likely to still be using broadcast television over on-demand sources).that's not intended as offensive stereotyping by the way - these are known statistics.

Tl;Dr - "all it means is that Republicans watch more telly"

They might not watch more telly, maybe they just prefer current affairs instead of Simon Cowell or a Netflix series (take your pick of many)?
