has anyone on this forum not gone in a shop and thought "oh sh1t my mask" and had to go get it, get it out a pocket?

or stood too close to someone or passed them in an aisle too close

I mean it would be like having a go at a politician for going 75 on a motorway

She's dumb for doing it. If we lived in a just world, she would have been punished for this just like Dominic Cummings should have been but if the Tories are immune to consequences, they can't expect Nicola Sturgeon to face them just because they oppose her.

They're all dicks for not following regulations that they put into motion. The rules should apply to everyone, but they clearly don't.

Wear a mask it's that god damn simple.

I'd have more sympathy if she was struggling with the social distancing aspect of it all, not the easiest part.

Oh Cummings situation was far worse, no question about that from me.

Cummings was a disgrace....Nicola Sturgeon has more to lose imo. Its easy to forget and have moments like that...it wasnt pre planned like Cummings and she has done all she can do. Its great to apologise but then sometimes apologies count for nothing and when you are in such a position you shouldnt put yourself in any position where you have to apologise.
But as its Christmas I might forgive her even though I dont care for her much

It is simple but it’s also an easily mistake to do. If she had covid and knew about it then it will be a different story. When I was at my dads funeral the other week a mask was the last thing on my mind and I went **** my mask and put it on. Just one of those things really. She was still distancing herself

I get what you're saying, but to me the Mask part is the first step for me as it stops me from potentially breathing on anyone if I have Covid.

I suppose it's different mindsets, but the social distancing aspect is the part that I struggle with the most to remember.

Completely this, I really can’t see this as more than a mistake, rather than a deliberate rule-break like so many seen recently, I’ll save my anger for them.

That tiny 'break' means nothing she could still spread it in those few minutes, I do agree with your post other than the excuse made that its just a tiny 'break' when if it had been Boris more would have condemned it.

She's generally a bit ghastly but does this really matter? I'd imagine it's a one off, I'm sure we'd have heard endlessly about it if she'd done it before.

Oh for sure, had it been Boris people would be at his throat! I would bet on it (including by those who are forgiving of Sturrgon for this mistake, I would hold the same opinion though, not wearing a mask whilst standing up from a table doesn’t deserve a witch hunt imo). I think government ministers (all of them) are held to a top high standard, and all of them make mistakes, it’s just caught in the public eye. It’s like a witch hunt sadly, especially for any conservative member, they will be blamed for almost anything sadly

I think the difference being that Nicola has been critical of any of her MP’s breaking rules, so it’s believable it being an honest mistake, where as Boris has let multiple of his staff, family etc break the rules with no consequences, with Cummingsgate being the main reason people stopped paying attention to covid rules.

Does that not happen the other way when it's a leader certain people don't like.
Or just apply to leaders of others parties not Tories.

I rarely ever for instance, like any leader, I was a Con once, never liked any leader.
I voted Lib Dem in 2010, I couldn't stand Clegg.

I haven't REALLY liked any leader of Labour or Con since 2010.

I admit I do admire Sturgeon for her REAL, not put on compassion.
I think she's the best of all leaders of any Party at present.

Yes, I again state she was wrong to remove her mask.
I'd guess she has tested negative when tested.

However contrast her genuine apology today and publicly at the start of her press conference on covid.
With the farce of Cummings.
Who was fully supported by Johnson too.

I responded to Kate raising that point.
It's not about just supporting a leader that's liked.
Crikey, if that was the case, I'd likely have in the past not have supported any leader.

Haven't liked a single one right from Blair onwards of all Parties.
However certainly, I admire Nicola Sturgeon's covid actions.
Her genuine compassion for those left bereaved and determination to do her best and quickly.
So yes, I would accept her apology because I also believe it's as heartfelt as her compassion to those bereaved due to covid.
