Impressed with my first testing experience - came down with a cold on the 27th, was feeling pretty rough next day and had developed a cough and temperature so booked a test Monday evening for the following morning. Testing centre was very efficient and I was in and out within ten minutes then just had a text this morning to say that I'm negative less than 24 hours after I took the test

Was expecting it all to be a bit delayed especially around Christmas and Bank Holidays but seems like they have ironed out a lot of the problems around testing availability etc that we had a few months ago

Default Coronavirus Outbreak

Matt Hancock LIVE on LBC now !!

Says Oxford AstraZeneca jab has been approved and will be rolled out next Monday !

They have decided to give as many people as possible one jab and then try and give the second jab around 3 months later .

He will make an announcement today at 2.30pm on this and the new area restrictions - nobody higher than Tier 4 though

Now I saw a photo yesterday of a Nightingale hospital that had been completely stripped out bare ... just the walls , food and lighting remained but Hancock just confirmed that the Nightingales were all on standby if required !!!!

So Matt Hancock was positively buzzing a few minutes ago ... with news of the Oxford vaccine being rolled out to the whole population starting next Monday after we have one hundred million ON ORDER ... he was asked how effective it was but he said he couldn’t give an actual figure but it is VERY effective ...

What I don't understand though is they have said that they are going to extend the time between the two jabs from 4 weeks to 12 but I thought the time between was time critical to ensure immunity?

Ww now have two vaccines.
Well definitely get all the people at risk vaccinated by spring.
That should bring cases down, hopefully.

Hancock says it’s a game changer and we will be lifting restrictions by Spring but he wouldn’t specify an actual date just Spring ...

Well everyone can get the virus so does that mean that they’re going to vaccinate 66.65 million in next few months !!

They’re saying on Good Morning Britain that they can develop TWO MILLION per week ... so that’s 33 weeks to make 66 million .

He’s saying everyone will have had the first jab within a TWELVE week period then we can start giving the second jab 12 weeks after the first jab .

The maths don’t add up ... do they ?
He’s already said we have put in an ORDER for 100 million

Yes, but the more vulnerable will be vaccinated first.

With the Oxford jab everyone will have to be getting their second jab twelve weeks after they’ve had the first one .. but we only have them on ORDER and if they can only make two million per week ..

The maths is worrying me somewhat .

The editor of the Lancet has just tried to calm things down a little .. he mentioned that whilst Matt Hancock has said the ‘cavalry’ has arrived in fact it’s just the ‘horses’ as the real challenge will be to get the 16 million at risk over 60’s vaccinated with their first jab by Easter .. roughly one million per week . ( 90% of uk deaths were over 60’s)

He says it’s a hell of a task , something never been done before on such a scale and It will mean surgeries , pharmacies and even schools administering the jabs ..
