I havent watched any yet. Judging by the comments she seems to have suffered from having the wrong production team. Having RTD would have been seen her having much better story arcs.

Yeah, she's not the strongest actor to have had the role, but she's badly let down by a show that doesn't know what it wants to be.

I wouldn't say im a Tennant stan.. my fave series was series 1. I just prefer when the show didn't take itself too seriously and was a bit more camp

Matt Smiths series were alright but they got so confusing and kept breaking 'rules' after a while that it just felt like there were never any consequences unless it fit the story. and Capaldis era was ruined by Clara outstaying her welcome by about 2 series. Bill was done dirty!

these new ones with Jodie are painfully boring

I loved her in the episode of Black Mirror she starred so I think I'll take a look. It seems Dr Who cant live up to the Tennant and Smith years anymore. It'll always be big across the globe but the quality isnt matching the appetite for episodes.

I think we saw what a female doctor would look like with Moffat (Clara, River and Missy). Far better than 13.

Agree with that. It looks like those were the golden years and did we appreciate this at the time?

the current doctor who is catering for a different audience and thats not down to the lead actor, it's down to the script writers. I just can't watch it these days with that collection of writers. If they change them, i will consider watching it again

That was always a flaw in Steven Moffat's writing, he could never just let the Doctor lead the Show.

Apparently Chibnall wrote on Broadchurch on ITV.

So why the BBC hired someone as a Showrunner who's strength clearly isn't in writing Sci-Fi is beyond me.

I'm with you on only being able to watch the Show again if there is a change in the writing staff.

But is he her daddy or her boyfriend Marsh no one can tell me and that's weird! Not only that, it's KNOWINGLY weird, because you only have to read slightly between the lines to see that Danny Pink was asking the exact same question .

I don't mind him allowing the companion to have a big role. They should.

But Clara was playing the role of the Doctor in being the smart arse all the time and it was grating.

I'm not a fan of his version of DW, but you can't box a writer in on the basis of one project. Even if it is their most famous work.

He worked on Torchwood under RTD.

To be fair, I think that was meant to be her "endgame arc" - she was running around, pretending to be the Doctor, and that's what got her killed.

River or Missy would have been excellent Doctor Who's.

Spot on IMO Oliver - she learned from and idolised the Doctor and forgot (perhaps both of them forgot?) that the Doctor regularly gets him/herself very much killed and is only able to be The Doctor because of being (essentially) immortal, or at least close to it.

Though on that note, I think it was a narrative error to have her go off adventuring in her own TARDIS as her grand finale. Story arc wise, given the above, she should have died.

I genuinely think it was supposed to be you know. I rewatched recently and the "too big for her boots" stuff is introduced really deliberately and I don't think it's even meant to be a surprise when she ****s up by trying to be "doctor-clever" and gets herself killed.

Same with Bill - she was basically forced to spend the rest of eternity traveling through time and space with a lesbian puddle who's a shallow recreation of a girl she sold chips to once. Bill's in my top three NuWho companions and I wish she'd have been around for longer, but I think death might have been better than the living hell she was stuck with. Like Moaning Myrtle being turned into a paving slab.

To be frr, and I might be remembering it wrong, but I'm pretty sure The Puddle told her she could actually be restored and go home if she wanted, and even if she accepted being "the passenger" she could still choose to go home at any time so she might as well give it a whirl

I haven't seen as much of Torchwood.

I wonder if his episodes on that are as dull?
