What comes IMMEDIATELY after Trump won't be, but the next time the US flips Republican (and it will ALWAYS seesaw between the two) I do genuinely worry about what the next Red President looks like. I think if you imagine Trump with more brains, smoother charisma and less comedy... you have a potentially extremely dangerous situation.

I think the republicans will probably try someone more moderate this time around, Trump lost in a decisive fashion, the republicans lost a lot of swing votes that Trump had in 2016. I don't think another extreme candidate will tempt them back, not when Biden's likely to right the ship and keep it steady.

I assume they'll go for someone like Mitt Romney, a lot of his actions lately have seemed like a ploy to position himself as a candidate for 2024 to bring back the middle ground voters.
