I mean it's annoying but this has been an issue forever... and it's a minor inconvenience not some massive assault on freedoms .

I set off a self-service alarm last week an d- funnily enough - it WAS a beef joint . However I was a bit peeved that time because the sticker was on the plastic packaging, which was then under a cardboard sleeve, so you wouldn't even know it had one until the alarm went off . Bit of an odd packaging choice there. Even the self check out guy was confused. He was like "It'll be the beef..." and then confusedly tossed it around like a rubix cube for ages before figuring out where the sticker was hiding.
