This is a road in Aberdeenshire today, it shows you how valuable snow poles are in Scotland or the ploughs would not know where to go!

around 20cm of snow has fallen quite widely across east and central Scotland to wake up to this morning with 30 and 40 in places

very picturesque

people take pics of their wheelie bins and post them on windy wilsons weather facbook page

Risk of Freezing Rain for North England Sat and Sunday as milder air takes over at the weekend

the big High rmains over Europe but we will get milder ar from a large Low up by Iceland

Scotland cold until Monday at mo


-20C tonight Scotland - probably somewhere like Braemar

Transport Scotland reported temperatures down to nearly -18C at Bannockburn in Stirling Monday, and reiterated that people should not be travelling unless for an essential reason.

-20C this morning for ALtnaharra in the North but even Perth at -18C

BBC just said Braemar was -23C

Monday 15 Feb - Wednesday 24 Feb

Rather cloudy with rain at times into Monday with any snow likely being restricted to the high grounds of Scotland, though there is signal for some widespread snow to low levels plausible.
