I guess playing rugby helped me a lot because when I was younger I had no problem getting into it with others and didn't want to calm things down. But then I have learnt how to diffuse a situation in a team and talk things through. I confused getting heated vs putting your point across by not getting heated.
I'm way more patient now and can find ways to calm a situation down.

Same in my family and friends. I kind of have always been the "big brother" or the one hosting debates or trying to calm things down in a group. Even at work, I'm usually seen as the neutral one, and having a managing position puts that to the test too. Because really some days you just want to either shout at everybody or quit But you need to talk it out and take a deep breath and smooth it over as much as possible to get the best out of a possible bad situation.

And thank God I married someone who also smooths things out too. Makes it ten times easier at home.

This is one of my favourite posts for a while for some reason.. what position were you Remy?
