Exactly.

I actually am not a centrist, but I don't want to just agree with something just because someone from the left tells me to, that's no different to the Trump cult on the right.

Come talk to me about the 'far left' in the same breath as the far right when left leaning people launch an attack on the Senate, or when a left leaning extremist shoots an Brexiteer to death, or when pro-choice people are doing whatever the equivalent is of conservative pro-life harassing people outside of abortion clinics, so on, and so forth.
In fairness I have made loads of posts against what the Trump cult did at Capitol Hill, in your defence you've obviously not seen them (as nobody can read every post in fairness) I actually don't know much about the Remainer being shot story I'm afraid, from what you're telling me though it's extremism at it's very worst.

And again I'm not a pro-life person (I understand their motive) but ultimately I can see it less black and white than what the pro-life people see it as.

For me it's just simple, I don't support extremist views, from more silly things like wanting a Comedian to lose his career because he dared to make a joke that they personally didn't like that the far left have been doing lately, to the more violent extremism that we've seen from the far right recently.

If that makes me a Centrist then great, better than being in either of those two camps imo.

What I'm saying is not so much aimed at you, but at centrism and 'both-sides' arguments in general.

I think objecting to these Tweets is just a normal reaction tbh.

The Media are obviously trying to whip up a frenzy, but these Tweets shouldn't be existing in the first place, 18 Tweets or 100, it doesn't matter what the number is imo.

Twitter's Moderating team are a joke for letting these Tweets stand.

Fair enough Dezzy.

I was worried about being associated with the Tories for a second then, I'd rather be mistaken as a Villa fan before that.

I find this over-simplified I suppose; both sides could apply to severity of actions/likely consequences or it could simply refer to specific behaviour or thinking patterns. Do I think "both sides are as bad as each other"? No, absolutely not, the dangers of rampant right-wing ideology can't really be overstated.

However are there absolutely MASSIVE issues with dogma, mantra-parroting and groupthink "on both sides"? It's quite clear that there is but I don't even consider that a "sides" issue. They're not different things, they're exactly the same thing, just attached to different ideologies. It's never a good thing, separate to whether one ideology is objectively more dangerous than the other... The mindset itself, regardless of the focus, is dangerous. There's no such thing as a constructive conversation with a zealot and these days zealots are absolutely everywhere, interwoven into every issue big or small... and without conversation you have nothing.

Yeah that particular Tweet disturbs me a little bit.

How anyone functions in society with those views is beyond me.

The Right Wing has taught us that anything can be a narrative, as long as you believe! Facts proving the contrary be damned!
