Yes exactly Parmy; pretending that debates exist in a vacuum separate to the experiences and worldviews of those involved in the debate is not "real". Thus, "finding issue and fault with those that oppose one's views" is an integral part of a full and open debate. A sanitised "debate" where one has to pretend that debators don't bring external factors to the table is ... a big ol' pile of nothing.
