…from a personal point of view as a host but maybe not the same for players….?..I liked the guidance that limited answers…(…or just having it as an independent game with questions that do have limited answers..)…just because it makes it tighter with duplicate answers and doesn’t open up so much to endless Google possibilities to find the most ‘obscure’…there would always be limited possibilities on an actual Pointless game board…


…but yeah, I did give thought to Cherie’s supper…as to whether it was actually dinner…but then, if she’d had an afternoon tea, then it could be something different from dinner……

Well I would have thought Supper was a lighter later meal but then I wasn't sure the way the question was worded if we were only supposed to choose from the 3 main meals Breakfast, lunch & dinner. But like you said Ammi, some questions (or a lot of them) are just too open ended to work properly for Pointless. I think the game would work better with a different, more tight set of questions with only a certain amount of correct answers

…dinner and tea are different meals entirely as well…(…IMO…)…not the same meal under a different name…


….because (for instance…)…if a child were to have a hot school meal at lunchtime…their parents might only give them a sandwich meal later in the day…and for me a sandwich meal couldn’t be described as a dinner because dinner is a main meal…so it’s not just a different descriptive, it’s a different meal….

…for me personally…I found it more fun doing the tighter questions and seeing what ‘the most popular’ pointless answer was…which I think is more inline with the TV game …but tbh, I haven’t actually watched a whole episode I don’t think…

Plus they're regional terms as well. I would never use the term Tea but I would have just thought it was a different word for dinner, plus school kids here don't have school dinners anyway, it's all packed lunches

Yeah, definitely more in line with the programme, there's always only a certain amount of correct answers.

I personally think the 3 meals are Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, but I know many people who call them Breakfast, Dinner and Tea, so it depends where you’re from really, but it is one of the main three meals elsewhere in the country

I agree with Niamh, that future editions of the game should probably have different questions... not only for the "concrete definitions of a correct answer" element, but also so it doesn't overlap with TA and people are fearful of "spoiling" an answer for that later on
