I've phoned the docs. He phoned back. Said it would probably be a lot more painful if I'd perforated it. But keep it dry and don't let water get in it. If the pain gets worse then make an appointment. X

using cotton buds in your ears is one of the worst things you can do to your ear. It actually forces debris further into your ear and compacts it. If you want to remove wax simply put a couple of drops of olive oil into each ear and it will dissolve any wax and you can then wipe it away later with a tissue
