How much do we all tend to drink during the weekend, by the way?

The same as I do in the week.

The question is is it better to drink daily at a sensible level…or drink nothing during the week and then hammering it at the weekend…?

It all tallies up to the same amount anyway so it is what it is.

No one’s going to stick to the “recommended guidelines” (one drink for women, two for men) on a Friday night. Some people can’t get away with drinking on weekdays so weekends are their only chance to indulge and enjoy (and that’s something we all need to do more of). I’m sure it’s more sensible from a health perspective to have CBD tea every day instead of waking-and-baking with the potent stuff as part of a weekly routine but someone who’s looking to get properly lit isn’t going to want to sit around drinking CBD tea or rubbing hemp cream on their faces as a substitute. Sensible isn’t always fun.

Not to preach but… If you put the pseudoscience aside… neither. Any regular alcohol consumption damages pretty much every organ in your body and increases cancer risk.

Can’t drink now, but in my younger days it was normally 6 nights and 1 afternoon a week.
Had no problem getting up for work early every morning but it’s a good job I was picked up at the door.

I know the risks that come with drinking...smoking...taking any drugs including prescription drugs...driving a car...walking in the dark alone etc etc etc....
We all know what is good for us and what isnt....but anything in moderation. My dad has a whisky every evening and he is 92 and going strong and is in good health...so its done him no harm.

However I have heard that binge drinking at the weekend can cause more damage than a steady drink during the week.

Pretty much everything that feels or tastes good is bad for you.

Yeah, I’m here for a good time. Not an especially long one.

I’m pretty sure it’s been proven that moderate consumption of red wine (and even beer) has/have quite a few health benefits so I don’t know what Toy Soldier was saying about regular consumption being sure to erode every internal organ and give you cancer. But then TS is forever the killjoy so.

Yeah me too....I have recently had my eyes opened to the realities of old age...its not a pretty sight.
A lovely lady who retired from my old company only last year just recently died from Cancer having being diagnosed in january....she didnt get to see much of her retirement having worked until she reached 67. Her words to a collegue were just live your life whilst you can because we do not know what is around the corner.....my outlook for the past 10 years or so.
Do everything in moderation...have fun and live each day like the next is your last...i

You might as well throw in a bit of dry Gordon’s as well for good measure.

I used to love southern comfort. Until I drank a bottle of it when being very silly in a short space of time. Now cant even smell it without feeling ill.

Blue aftershock, same story. Though that was my jobs fault at the time.

I’d be interested in knowing why some people are so annoyingly deliberate on putting a damper on anything fun by reminding you that regular alcohol consumption is going to rot all your internals.
