[Human remains have been found in the
Carlton Reserve, where Brian Laundrie
was feared to be hiding
The partial remains were discovered
along with a backpack that contained
some of Laundrie's belongings
Laundrie family attorney Steve Bertolino
said the belongings were found near a
bridge connecting the Myakkahatchee Creek
Environmental Park and adjoining Carlton Reserve
The park in Florida had been shut off to
the public for nearly a month for
the search - it reopened yesterday
Laundrie, 23, is the sole person of interest
in the murder of his fiancée,
22-year-old Gabby Petito
The pair were on a cross-country camper
van trip when she vanished in August
and he returned to Florida
Her strangled body was found weeks
later in Wyoming and Laundrie went on the run
His parents have been admonished for refusing
to speak publicly or to Gabby's family
throughout the ordeal
They went out with the authorities on
Wednesday to search the Carlton Reserve]
