Remembering Kerry
|
I know she wants to carry on and it's commendable all the way her sense of duty.
However, she doesn't need to. She has a Son who SHOULD be well trained as to the role of being a Monarch, and who has been for many decades. Then the succession is further assured with Prince George too. So no way does she need to carry on at 95 years old. She could have a role like her Mother, who as Queen Mother, appeared when able to and still carried out limited functions. I suspect, my suspicious mind I guess, in a small part, the Queen has concerns for the monarchy, once Prince Charles does take over. It has to happen one day however and the Queen retiring now after all her decades of dedication, could be the better transition. Where she could guide from the background, his start to being Monarch. Rather than when sadly she's no longer with us, with him taking the reigns at that time. If she has now health concerns and at 95 who would be surprised. She doesn't HAVE to continue with the responsibilities and workload expected of a Monarch and I doubt anyone would begrudge her retiring now at all. |
