We always fare badly because we're densely populated and see a lot of international travel. Plus a lot of European countries basically never gave up restrictions whereas we've thankfully had none

Holland going back into lockdown will tell you that plenty of other countries are seeing massive cases as well though

Is it simply due to us being a tiny island with a dense ( both meanings ) population ??

Yes New York
has Omicron as bad as the UK.

But China gets Omicron in a Port
they Close that Port
Test EVERYONE
Put's it into fast Lockdown.
No one can leave that zone

I'm sorry Alfie, that is just not true. If people don't want to get jabbed, that's up to them, but then to expect to receive medical treatment when it all goes the shape of the pear.... No.

You must be the only person in the country who think that the medical profession are "tossing it off doing tiktok dances...." and as much as I adore you, that's a really awful and misguided thing to say.

Default Coronavirus Outbreak : France Bans UK Visitors

I think part of the issue is that people see nurses on a break when a ward is busy and think “hmph they shouldn’t get a break when it’s so busy”. But it’s always that busy… and they don’t get paid for that break… so essentially it’s saying that hospital staff shouldn’t get breaks, ever, and should also work an extra half hour a day for no pay.

I don’t know about anyone else, but if I’m in hospital, I don’t want to be being watched over by a member of medical staff who is burnt out and hasn’t eaten all day? Just asking for critical errors to happen.

The hospitals are full of people who can't be put into care homes because 60,000 care home workers have just been fired, yet you claim they're full of unvaccinated people. As far as I can see the unvaccinated people are not in hospital, they're out on the streets protesting.

Covid hotspot figures show NHS may avoid being overwhelmed by omicron - here’s why

Sharp rise in cases in South Northamptonshire has not been followed by
comparable growth in hospital admissions, data show

Analysis by The Telegraph of Britain’s outbreak hotspot of the new variant
reveals that the spike in cases is not being followed by a comparable rise in
hospital admissions.

What?

Also, notice when mentioning the one death she uses the word "with" and not "from"

I’ll just reiterate what I said before. A few days worth of data is nowhere near enough to be drawing conclusions from, and the attempts to do so are at best wishful thinking, and at worst dangerously dumb.

It might be fine. It might be a disaster. We simply don’t know yet, there hasn’t been enough data to make any sort of projection. Why do people keep trying? Why are people still declaring it a “false alarm” or “over” based on less than a week’s data that includes the notoriously unreliable weekend numbers?

Nobody found out the flu figures yet? Do they match up to years of the past figures?
