One could argue that if part of their main objective was to destabilise America by undermining the Petrodollar... It's looking a lot like they may have achieved that aim. War is not simple in the 21st century and there are massive strategic objectives at play that don't make it into the media often because they're not shocking in the way that tanks and bodies are, and also it takes a fair amount of political and economic background reading to even understand what it means.

if you think about it, putin started forcing up the gas/oil price last year, then promising he would increase production, which he never did. All that did was increase the cash in his war reserves, and nobody questioned his motives in the west
