all water and sewerage companies in England.

£7bn until 2025 to upgrade sewage
infrastructure but admitted water bills will

I remember seeing something on TV a while ago, can't remember where it was in the UK but the river looked filthy yet someone was swimming in it .

Up most of the east coast, round the north coast of Scotland (if you can brave the cold) and also the Scottish Islands are all fine. Plus for freshwater, plenty of clean lochs .

But south coast of England is a flat NO especially south east, and several parts of the west coast are a bit risky.

Any coastline anywhere near London is pretty much on a permanent "pollution risk warning" if you look at the maps.

The companies need to be punished harshly after ONE offence !!

A thousand per day means they aren’t even bothered imho


Fifty years ago the best places to catch huge Cod off Scarborough beach were the two sewage pipes that pumped waste into the sea - about 50 metres out

The water companies know how to treat water to clean it, they know what safe levels of toxins are. If they fail in their role to monitor those things they are no longer competent.
