I've engaged with the topic previously, and with you. It's not worth it for me anymore tbh, as there is no discussion to be had unfortunately, especially when the same discussion is available in numerous other threads, but you are correct that people have blind spots, especially when things get a bit manic

It's just further erosion of the ability to discuss and explore anything that's deemed "controversial" or a difficult conversation. The two places that it was historically possible to do a deep-dive on tough issues safely were in academia, and in comedy. It's already been stripped from academia over the last few years through threats and intimidation from the Group That Doesn't Exist... comedy was next on the list. Really it was only a matter of time.

Celebrity itself is fine, as long as it's a "celebration of talent" and giving recognition to people who deserve it.
