Theres also talk that way saved will in the upside down was when they played should I stay or should I go. But with vecna doing all this all along its weird he didn't kill will, or try and lift him up etc like everyone else. Maybe will didn't have a trauma that vecna was interested in?
However I think Will might prove to have been evil all along. He was worried in this season and surely it's more than just a story of being gay |

Also just watching the final episode again now as fancied it, I think another reason Eddie sacrificed himself is that he would have just been put in prison and had everyone hate him whether he survive or not, we saw that on his missing poster, so he didn't want to be a coward and run away he wanted to be a hero, it was a way to protect Dustin and allow the plan of killing vecna to be given the best chance |
