In my longest relationship, it wasn't overly publicly affectionate. But when she was feeling a little anxious, she'd hold my hand and i'd stroke her hand with my thumb to reassure her. These are normal things, right?!

of course, but if she pulled her hand away and you grabbed it back and carried on reassuring her when it was clear she didnt need or want it, that would be abnormal imo
