I would only expect them to be in the kitchen when cooking and if there is no where else to eat when eating, otherwise they should take themselves off to their rooms, unless the kitchen is the only communal area but then again its not fair to expect someone to cook in a crowded space when you just want to get on and not feel you are being watched or hurried

is there another space they can congregate in other than their rooms?
